A little bit inspired by Amber Rose of Laughing with Broken Eyes, I decided to ‘doll’ myself up for some fabric and thrift shopping. Although my painted cheeks aren’t as bold as they could be, I think they got the point across in a cute way. I very much like this look!

Camouflage: what I wore 10/26/2010

26 Oct

Observation : If you look at the word ‘camouflage’ long enough, it ceases to be a word. In fact, it doesn’t make sense at all and almost seems like a kind of mucus. Which is another weird word.
Anyway.
Obviously, this is a very fall inspired outfit. I found this cardigan for a dollar at a local thrift store, and although mustard isn’t a color (or a condiment) that I usually go for, I snatched it up. But I actually really like it! To stop the outfit from being to overwhelmingly coordinated, I threw in these bright blue tights. The beanie I got in a craftster fall swap last year, and I love love love it! I might contact the girl again to make me some more in turquoise, forest green, and…mustard *gasp*. This could be a new obsession…
I look certifiably insane in this picture. lol

Stripes: What I Wore 8/30/2010

This is perhaps the shortest skirt I have ever worn. (That’s excluding those micro-mini tutus that I wore when I was in ballet) But I think this is going to be a staple outfit for fall. Short dress, colorful tights, and boots. I’m currently on a hunt for some epic knee high boots (so send me some links if you have any recommendations).
Today was fun! We went on a car ride to nowhere, took some photos, and are now watching season 6 of LOST. We’ve been watching this show nonstop for the past month, and now we’re to the end! I dont think I would have lasted this long watching it on T.V. lol. But on dvd, it’s like one long movie.

Conversation Hearts: What I Wore 8/14/2010

This purse was my first Modcloth purchase, and I have to say I’m pretty pleased with it! For all the purses and bags that I have/make, I do not have a simple, black bag that goes with everything and is relatively adorable. This “Conversation Hearts” purse fits the bill nicely! It’s a small size, but fits everything I “need” to take with me, super soft, and I love the shape. So, yeah. Good purchase.

The rest of the outfit was a test run for Sunday (special date time). I like to make sure the outfit is comfortable and that I don’t have to spend to much time pulling at my clothing. The dress is by Soprano, and is the most comfortable dress I own. It’s made of a soft jersey/knit material, and has a slight build up at the shoulders. And long sleeves! (They’re rolled up in this picture) It is so hard finding a cute dress with long sleeves. Seriously. And it was only $12 at Macy’s on the discount floor.

The vest was another awesome find at Value Village, only $5. It’s by Guess, and was in amazing condition…I don’t think it had ever been worn! The back is striped, and it fits like a glove.

Dress – Soprano – $12
Vest – Guess (thrifted) – $5
Tights – Betsey Johnson – $3
Flats – Payless – $28
Purse – Modcloth – $27
Heartagram necklace – ebay (christmas gift)

I found this dress at Goodwill on a recent thrifting expedition, and love it so so much. It’s got a slightly 50’s vibe that I totally dig, and was super cheap! I found a bunch of awesome things this time around that will eventually make their way to their own outfit post.

Dress – Dressbarn via Goodwill
Super polkadotty belt – Thrifted
Striped wedges – American Eagle
Purse – Thrifted and personalised
